On Friday 30 January, Peter Freeman CBE, Chair of the Cambridge Growth Company, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of the Built Environment in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the built environment sector.
The ceremony took place at Reading Town Hall, bringing together graduates and leaders from across the industry. Peter was joined by Ros Kerslake CBE, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees and Homes England Board Member.
As a fully remote institution, the University of the Built Environment is widening access to careers in the sector, supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds and at different stages of life. Peter received his honorary doctorate alongside hundreds of graduates celebrating their own achievements and taking their next steps into the profession.
The honour recognises Peter’s outstanding contribution to the built environment and his long-standing leadership in championing mixed-use, infrastructure-led development and collaborative, inclusive approaches to place-making.
